৯ ডিসেম্বর : সোনাইয়ের বিধায়ক আমিনুল হকের বিরুদ্ধে নির্বাচন কমিশনে অভিযোগ করলেন আসাম বিধানসভার বিরোধী দলনেতা দেবব্রত শইকিয়া। গতকাল এক অভিযোগনামায় তিনি বলেছেন, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় একটি চাঞ্চল্যকর ভিডিও ভাইরাল হয়েছে। এতে ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টির সোনাই কেন্দ্রের বিধায়ক আমিনুল হক লস্কর দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ের পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচন নিয়ে কিছু আপত্তিজনক মন্তব্য করেছেন। শইকিয়ার অভিযোগ অনুযায়ী, এই ভিডিওতে বিধায়ক আমিনুল তাঁর কর্মীদের বলছেন যে, দলের পক্ষে সমর্থকরা ভোট দেওয়ার পর ব্যালট পেপারে ভোটদাতাদের ব্যবহার করা সিলটি নষ্ট করে দিতে বা চুরি করে নিয়ে যেতে।

বিধানসভার বিরোধী দলনেতা আরও বলেন, ওই ভিডিওতে বিধায়ক না কি তাঁর দলের কর্মীদের বলেছেন, দলীয় ভোটদাতারা নিজেদের ভোট দিয়ে দিলে দুপুর ১টার পর ভোটদানে ব্যবহৃত সিলটি সরিয়ে নিতে হবে। এতে দুপুর একটার পর যারা ভোট দিতে আসবেন, তারা সিলের অভাবে আঙুলের ছাপ দেবেন, আর গণনার সময় এই ভোটগুলো তিনি বাতিল করে দেবেন। এই ভিডিওতে ছাপ্পা ভোট এবং কীভাবে প্রশাসন তাঁদের সমর্থকদের সহায়তা করবে, সে ব্যাপারেও বিধায়ক উল্লেখ করেছেন বলে কমিশনকে নালিশ করেছেন শইকিয়া।

তিনি এই চিঠি রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনের নজরে নিয়ে সাফ বলেছেন, শাসক দলের নির্বাচিত একজন জনপ্রতিনিধির এ ধরনের মন্তব্য নির্বাচনী প্রক্রিয়ার ক্ষতিসাধন করবে এবং জনমনে একাধিক প্রশ্নের জন্ম দিয়েছে। তিনি চিঠিতে নির্বাচন কমিশনকে এ বিষয়ে নজর দেওয়ার অনুরোধ জানান এবং অবাধ ও নিরপেক্ষ ভোট সুনিশ্চিত করার দাবিও জানিয়েছেন।

December 9: In a sensational incident, a video has gone viral in social media, wherein Bharatiya Janata Party MLA of Sonai Constituency Aminul Haque Laskar is making some objectionable statements in relation to the 2nd phase of Panchayat elections. In this video, MLA Sonai is telling his workers to damage the seal which is used by the voters to vote on the ballot paper or to steal it after his supporters finish their voting. This was alleged by Debobrata Saikia, Leader of the Opposition of Assam Legislative Assembly in a letter addressed to the State Election Commissioner, Assam on 8 December.

The Leader of the Opposition further stated that in the video, MLA Sonai is telling his party workers to steal the seal used for voting after 1 PM when the voters of his party finish casting their votes. In the absence of the seal, voters coming after 1 PM will be forced to put their thumb impression on the ballot paper and he will get those votes rejected during the counting. He is also talking about false votes and his supporters in this particular video are also talking about how the administration is going to favour them.

Debobrata Saikia in his letter to the State Election Commissioner has expressed concern and stated that “An elected legislator of the ruling party is making such statements which undermine the electoral process and raise many questions in the minds of the people.” Mr. Saikia finally urged upon the Assam State Election Commission ‘to take note of it and ensure a peaceful and fair election.”
