BJP suspends Dilip Paul & 14 others from primary membership of the party for 6 years
March 18: In a significant move, Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suspended 15 persons from the primary membership for indulging in anti-party activities. In a notification issued in Assamese by Dr. Rajdeep Roy, General Secretary of Assam Pradesh BJP on 18 March, it was stated that, “In violation of the Section 25, Sub-section 9 of the constitution of the party, the following 15 members are suspended with immediate effect from the primary membership of the party for going against the party’s mandate and contesting against the candidates nominated by the party during the Assam Assembly Elections, 2021. This has the approval of the State Party President Ranjit Kumar Das. They are suspended from the primary membership of the party for a period of 6 years.”

- Rao Gajendra Singh, Naobeicha
- Priyanka Neog, Chabuya
- Lakhheshwar Moran, Doomdooma
- Tarun Sahu, Dhekiyajuli
- Thoiba Singh, Lakhipur
- Ashish Haldar, Sonai
- Khitish Ranjan Paul, Hailakandi
- Ram Kumar Nunia, Katlicherra
- Manoj Mohan Deb, Hailakandi
- Sima Ingtipi, Baithalangshu
