Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav celebrated at KV Srikona
Way2barak, December 12 : In order to strengthen linguistic harmony and develop a conducive environment for learning more Indian Languages, Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Srikona celebrated Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav on 11th December 2023 on the Janma Jayanti of Subramania Bharati, a great nationalist poet. The Indian languages festival inaugurated on 28th September 2023, culminated on this day jubilantly to give a sense of unity and introduce the students to the beautiful cultural heritage and diversity of the nation.
Activities performed under the Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav were Speech/Skit/ Extempore competitions in multiple languages conducted on the theme of ‘Bhashaye Anek, Bhav Ek’. Students came dressed in ‘Bhartiya Paridhan’ like dhoti, kurta, various shades of saree showing the rich cultural heritage and history of our country.
Principal Shri Sandeep Sharma marked the auspicious beginning of the event by offering floral tribute to the portrait of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati. This was followed by a speech and power-point presentation on the life and literary creations of the poet by the Department of English.
The outstanding cultural performances by the students of the Vidyalaya focused on the importance of multilingualism as an essential value of nationalism. The event was concluded with an elaborate vote of thanks by Mrs. Devika Nagdutta, the senior most teacher of the Vidyalaya.
The objective of the celebration was to facilitate a seamless transition from the current educational ecosystem to one rooted in Bharatiya languages, keeping with the vision of NEP 2020, to set the course for a technologically enriched future for Bharatiya languages in education.
