Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dakshin Silchar organises series of programmes for donation of medicines
Aug. 12: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Dakshin Silchar since its inception has been organising a number of philanthropic activities in various parts under their jurisdiction. “We are committed to serve the nation and in this pursuit the members always try to contribute for the welfare of the society with its limited resources,” stated Prof. Niranjan Roy, President of BVP Dakshin Silchar branch. During the month of August, 2021, the members of BVP organised a series of events wherein they donated medicines to the underprivileged section of the society.
On 7 August, 2021, BVP Dakshin Silchar organized a programme for free distribution of medicines relating to skin diseases at West Jalenga Tea Estate. Dr. Kingshuk Adhikari, Treasurer, Mr Biswaraj Chakraborty, Additional Secretary, Dr Devdatta Biswas and Dr. Darshana Patoa, Secretary of the branch visited the garden and donated various medicines so that health workers of the garden can provide such medicines at free of cost among the poor patients of that locality as per requirements.
On 9 August, 2021, BVP Dakshin Silchar organized another programme for free distribution of medicines relating to skin diseases at Rosekandy Tea Estate. In order to donate various medicines, Dr. Kingshuk Adhikari, Treasurer, Mr Biswaraj Chakraborty Additional Secretary, Dr Devdatta Biswas and Dr. Darshana Patoa, Secretary of the branch visited the garden and health workers of the garden gladly accepted this generous gesture of Dakshin Silchar branch. Health workers of the garden were requested to provide such medicines at free of cost to garden workers after requisite diagnosis.
Again, on 10 August, 2021, another programme for donation of important medicines was organized at Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Dr. Kingshuk Adhikari, Treasurer, Mr Biswaraj Chakraborty Additional Secretary, Dr. Kalyan Das and Dr. Darshana Patoa, Secretary of the branch visited the hospital and donated various medicines for the patients of the hospital and were overwhelmed after getting a spontaneous positive response from Dr. Iqbal Bahar, Dr. Riteshji and Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty on behalf of the Cachar Cancer Hospital for this small but noble effort of BVP Dakshin Silchar.
