Body of new born baby found at Meherpur

December 8: In the early morning on Sunday, a new born child was found in the bushes near Nightangle Nursing Home at Meherpur, SIlchar. The baby was wrapped in a blanket. Local people saw the baby and immediately informed the police.

Police reached the spot and recovered the baby. The baby was dead. Police revealed that the baby seems to be 2-day old and was probably left there by any single mother. People of the locality expressed deep anguish at such inhuman act.
