Barak river bank cleanliness drive by YTC-NSS of Cachar College
way2barak, Oct 2: Yuva Tourism Club (YTC) of Cachar College organized “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on 1st October to observe World Tourism Day and Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In this connection, a lecture program was organized, which was graced by Dr. R. Eugene Lamare, Project Associate -II, National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD) Project, Wildlife Insitute of India
Dehradun. The program was attended by faculty members from various departments, students, members of Yuva Tourism Club, and NSS volunteers of Cachar College unit.
After the lecture session, Yuva Tourism Club, in association with Wildlife Institute of India and NSS Cachar College Unit, conducted a Barak river bank cleanliness drive at Itkhola Ghat. It needs to be mentioned here that, Yuva Tourism Club and NSS unit of Cachar College jointly undertook cleanliness drive “Swacchata Hi Seva” campaign within the college campus on the same day.
The overall program was coordinated by Birupakshya Paul Choudhury Teacher-in-charge of Yuva Tourism Club, Dr. Dipyaman Mohanta, Program officer of NSS unit, Cachar College; and Ariyan Roy, student coordinator of Yuva Tourism Club. The club members, NSS volunteers and students form various streams participated with great enthusiasm and dedication.
