Barak at Annapurna Ghat flowing at 21.47 mt; crosses its last highest level of 21.46 mt

Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat increasing, flowing at 21.47 mt at 10 PM on Sunday

June 19: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak has again started to rise and crossed the danger level at 11 AM on Saturday. On 18 May, 2022, the water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat reached this year’s highest level of 21.46 mt at 4 PM. Today, this level was crossed by Barak and the water level went upto 21.47 at 10 PM. As of now, this is the highest water level of River Barak at Annapurna Ghat this year.

On Sunday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually increasing. From 1 AM on Sunday, the water level of Barak increased from 20.74 mt to 21.47 mt at 10 PM. The Cumulative Daily Rainfall in Cachar was recorded at 267.5 mm.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 10 PM on Sunday, was flowing above the danger level and was recorded at 21.47 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is increasing at 01 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
