Barak at Annapurna Ghat below danger level; flowing at 19.70 mt at 9 PM on Friday

The water level is decreasing at 2 cm per hour

July 1: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak crossed the danger level on 18 June. However, after 13 days, at 3 PM on 1 July, the water level came down below danger level. From 1 AM on Friday, the water level of Barak came down from 19.85 mt to 19.70 mt.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 9 PM on Friday, was flowing below the danger level and was recorded at 19.70 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is decreasing at 2 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
