Bangla Sahitya Sabha, Silchar Branch & Uraan organises 2nd Health Camp for flood victims

July 24: Bangla Sahitya Sabha, Asom (BBSA), Silchar branch in collaboration with NGO Uraan, organised their second free medical camp for the flood -affected people of Silchar at Saravadaya Vidyalaya campus, Malugram on Sunday. As many as two hundred patients were examined by the doctors voluntarily without charging any fees.  The beneficiaries were also given free medicines and water-purifying medicinal liquid.

Indian Medical Association, Dumdum branch under the stewardship of Kolkata based philanthropist Phalguni Purkayastha and his spouse Dr. Mridula Purkayastha cum the sponsorship of industrialist BD Gupta this health camp was organised in a systematic manner. Around 200 patients were examined during the day.

 The doctors who rendered voluntary service in the health camp were Dr. Keshab Patikar, Dr. Bijoyeta Das, Dr. Arnab Bhattacharya and Dr. Pavel Sikidar. Miss Atashi worked as an assistant to the doctors at the camp. Reportedly the BSSA, Silchar Branch will soon organise another medical camp for flood-victims of Silchar.
