Ban on loudspeakers during exam period in Cachar

way2barak, February 13: —In a bid to ensure a peaceful and distraction-free environment for students, the Cachar District Administration has imposed a ban on the use of high-decibel loudspeakers and microphones across the district during the upcoming Higher Secondary (H.S.) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examinations 2025.
According to an official order issued by the Additional District Commissioner, Cachar, the restriction will remain in effect from February 13, 2025, to March 17, 2025 for the Higher Secondary (H.S.) examinations, and from February 15, 2025, to March 3, 2025 for the HSLC examinations.
The order strictly prohibits the use of loudspeakers or microphones emitting high-decibel sounds for any purpose during this period to help students focus on their studies and perform to the best of their abilities. The move has been widely appreciated by parents, educators, and students alike, as it underscores the administration’s commitment to supporting academic success.
Meanwhile, the ban applies uniformly across the district, the order does leave room for exceptional cases. In situations where the use of loudspeakers is deemed necessary, individuals or organizations can seek special permission from the District Administration. Such permissions will be granted only after careful consideration, ensuring that the primary objective of maintaining a quiet environment for examinees is not compromised.
The directive has been implemented with immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice. The administration has urged the public to cooperate and contribute to this collective effort in creating a conducive atmosphere for students during the crucial examination season.
This proactive step aligns with the broader goal of prioritizing education and recognizing the immense pressure students face during board examinations. The district authorities have also warned of stringent action against those who violate the order, reaffirming their dedication to upholding the academic sanctity of this period.
As the examination season approaches, the Cachar District Administration seeks the unwavering support of its residents in ensuring that the district resonates with silence.
