Awareness programme on G20 Summit at Silchar

Way2barak, February 27 : An awareness programme on G20 Summit was organised at Monmohan Ghosh Anil Das Memorial College, Ramnagar on 27th February. Among several colleges, only the aforesaid college got the opportunity to be an integral part of this programme. The function was arranged specifically to raise the awareness on Biodiversity Conservation at Community Level.

The founding member of the college Dr. Mandira Dutta Choudhury and the Directors Monoj Ghosh and Sanjit Kr. Das have collaborated the programme to a grand level. Supported by ‘Himalayan Knowledge Network Programme’, this awareness programme has witnessed the gracious presence of the chief dignitaries and they were Dr. Niranjan Roy and Dr. Arunjyoti Nath delivered an insightful speech among the students and to the audience as a whole. Dr. Niranjan Roy highlighted on the G20 or Group of Twenty is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union which works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.

Besides, Dr. Arunjyoti Nath addressed the role of community at biodiversity level. Community plays an important role for the safeguard and protection of the biodiversity as a whole. From the topics of air, water, soil, to the grains, crops and trees, Dr. Nath stresses on the core system and structure of leading a healthy lifestyle. “Progress of a nation depends on the fitness of the nation” says Dr. Arunjyoti, well recognised as the Junior Scientist and Researcher. The students were enlightened by the ideas of Natural Farming and the Pollarding in organic farms. The students later on participated in the open-forum discussion regarding the concerned topic. Overall, the programme was a grand success with the active participation of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff and the entire college family.
