Addressing the gathering, Dr Sujit Tewari, Principal of the college said, “We have a huge duty towards nation-building. the program on “Kartavya Se Vikas”, as per the initiative of honourable Governor of Assam beautifully encapsulates the essence of progress through duty. At the very core of every great civilization, every thriving society, and every successful individual lies a profound commitment to duty. Our responsibilities define us, shape us, and ultimately determine the trajectory of our development—both personal and collective. The word Kartavya is not just a duty in the conventional sense; it is a dharma, an unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and service. If we look at history, every great leader, scientist, teacher, or reformer who has left an indelible mark on society did so by fulfilling their duties with dedication and selflessness. As educators, students, and responsible citizens, our duties today will define the India of tomorrow. Students must Make Kartavya a part of their daily life. Perform every task, no matter how small, with full sincerity. Whether it is respecting your elders, excelling in your studies, or contributing to social causes—each duty adds to the collective progress of our society. Echoing Swami Vivekananda who had said, “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.” The goal of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) can only be reached if every citizen takes up their kartavya seriously.”
Dr Mithun Roy, a young social worker attended the event as a resource person and threw light on various ways through which youth and students in particular can contribute towards fostering national unity and integrity. The youth must realise their responsibilities towards safeguarding national and public properties and extending helping hands towards the needy and enhancing social harmony.
Advocate Mukta Das Choudhury, who was the other resource person at the event spoke about the human rights and duties towards the country. Dr Santanu Das, vice principal of the college and coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college lauded the initiative taken by honourable Governor and thanked everyone for their participation in making the day’s event successful. It may be mentioned that a quiz contest among the students on the importance of the duties and responsibilities was conducted and goodies were given to the students for their spontaneous responsibilities.
