Awareness campaign on COVID-19 held by Assam Science Society in Hailakandi
May 01: Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hailakandi branch of Assam Science Society is working in the field to spread the awareness for the prevention of this dreaded disease. On the 1st day of May, the members of Assam Science Society, Hailakandi under the active leadership of Prof B.K.Dhar, Chief Advisor and Prof Amalendu Bhattacharjee, President of Assam Science Society distributed large numbers of hand wash and homemade face masks in the locality.
For the benefit of the frontline workers under municipal board and district administration, hand wash and face masks were als handed over to Tridip Roy, Executive Officer of Hailakandi Municipal Board and to Randeep Kumar Dam, ADC, Hailakandi.
Considering the health and hygiene of police personals, hand wash were also distributed among them through the officer in-charge of Hailakandi Sadar Police Station and to CRPF personals. The same were also distributed to the office staff of the S. S. College evaluation zone, mobile vegetable vendors and persons related to essential service. Dr. Rupam Sen, Secretary of Science society, Debasish Guho Thakurta, Vice President along with the members of the society, Shankar Choudhury, Lutfur Rahman actively participated in the awareness drive. Dr. Rupam Sen informed that the society will continue their awareness campaign in the coming days also.
