AVBP gives memorandum to DC Cachar, demands more facilities for Covid treatment
April 29: In the wake of the spike in Covid-19 cases, Silchar Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, Cachar on Wednesday for making available better facilities for treatment of positive patients in the district. In the memorandum, ABVP Silchar unit raised the demand of increasing the number of ICU beds with oxygen facilities. They also urged upon the district administration to make arrangement for sufficient number of ventilators and oxygen cylinders.
“We also suggest to set up a Covid Care Centre in the district with atleast 500 beds in any of the educational institutions or other such places, ” stated the AVBP. They also wrote that such a Covid Care Centre can be established at Assam University. Apart from these, ABVP put forth the suggestions f increasing vaccination centres in the district, do more Covid tests, sanitise educational institutions and other such public places and implement the Covid appropriate behaviour among the masses.
On behalf of ABVP, the memorandum was submitted by Mahesh Bhagavath, Northeast Janasampark Pramukh, Dipankar Das- Silchar City Organising Secretary, Kaberi Nag- State Girls’ in-charge, Tara Shankar Goswami- NEC Member and Guddu Nath.
