২৯ মার্চ : উতকোচ নেওয়ার দায়ে ধৃত কাছাড়ের নির্বাচন শাখার সিনিয়র অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট অতসী দত্ত তরফদারকে গুয়াহাটি নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য শুক্রবার বিকেলে আদালত থেকে ট্রানজিট রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর হয়েছে। এ দিন তাকে শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতাল থেকে এনে সিজেএম কোর্টে তোলা হয়। এরপর গুয়াহাটি থেকে আসা অ্যান্টি করাপশন ব্রাঞ্চের ডিএসপি জয়ন্ত চক্রবর্তী ও মহিলা শাখার ডিএসপি মৌসুমী দাস তাকে গুয়াহাটি নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য ট্রানজিট রিমান্ড চান। আদালত অনুমতি দিলেও রাতে তাকে নিয়ে যাওয়ার ঝুঁকি নিতে চাননি অফিসারদ্বয়।

এর আগে এ দিন সকালে কাছাড়ের নির্বাচন শাখার বড়বাবু অতসীকে শারীরিকভাবে সুস্থ বলে জানান মেডিক্যাল কলেজ কর্তৃপক্ষ। ফলে তাকে আদালতে নিয়ে যাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে আর কোনও বাধা থাকেনি। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে শারীরিক অসুস্থতার অজুহাতে তিনি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছিলেন। এ দিন তাকে দেখতে আদালত চত্বরে উৎসুক মানুষের ভিড় জমে।

প্রসঙ্গত, বৃহস্পতিবারই ঘুষ নেওয়ার অভিযোগে গুয়াহাটির দুর্নীতি দমন শাখার আধিকারিকদের হাতে ধরা পড়েন অতসী দত্ত তরফদার।

March 29: Arrested Senior Assistant of Cachar District Election Office Atasi Dutta Tarafdar who was caught red-handed on Thursday by a team of Vigilance Officers from the anti-corruption wing of Assam Police while taking bribe inside her office chamber on Thursday was produced in the CJM Court, Silchar on Friday. The court has accorded transit remand on Friday evening. DSP of Anti-Corruption branch Jayanta Chakraborty and DSP of Female branch Moushumi Das were learnt to have sought transit remand of Atasi after she was released from Silchar Medical College & Hospital in the afternoon. Though the court has permitted to take Atasi on Friday evening, yet the officials did not take the risk of taking her at night.

Prior to that, on Friday morning, she was declared physically fit by Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) authorities. As such, there remains no hurdle for taking her to Guwahati. It needs mention here that she was admitted to SMCH on the pretext of ill-health. On Friday, there was a huge crowd of curious onlookers in the court campus.

Atasi Dutta Tarafdar demanded a bribe of Rs. 95,000 for releasing a bill of Rs. 2.5 lakh of a printing press. Unable to convince Atasi Dutta Tarafdar, the owner of the printing press Sujit Chanda informed the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell. In return, the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell directed the anti-corruption bureau to take immediate action. On Thursday, a trap was laid and she was caught red-handed.
