Assam University pays rich tribute to the martyrs of Galwan Valley in Ladakh
June 18: At least 20 Indian soldiers have laid down their lives defending the border at Galwan Valley, Ladakh. Similarly, many other soldiers have suffered martyrdom defending our borders at various fronts. Assam University along with the rest of the country paid rich homage to these brave sons of the nation.
On Thursday, the University organised a memorial ceremony to pay homage to these martyrs. Accordingly, all staff joined for paying homage at 4.00 PM at the Main Gate of Assam University by maintaining social distance and putting on mask.
Members of the university fraternity, lighted candles and offered floral tribute in memory of the soldiers who attained martyrdom while protecting our frontiers. Present during the memorial ceremony were Vice Chancellor of Assam University Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Registrar in-charge Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath, Joint Registrar Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor (Examinations) Dr. Suprabir Dutta Roy among others.
