Silchar College of Education observes ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Aug. 10: Responding to the appeal of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Silchar College of Education conducted plantation programme as part of the  ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in connection with the 75 years of Indian Independence. Apart from the plantation programme, various other activities were conducted in the college to commemorate the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

An essay competition was also held among the trainees of Silchar College of Education during the day. The college fraternity joined hands in beautification of their educational institution. Around 50 saplings were planted in the nook and corner of the college. Singing a Tagore song, the trainees, teachers and staff undertook the plantation programme.

Later on, in a formal gathering under the chairmanship of Dr Moumita Paul, Principal of Silchar College of Education, the teachers and staff explained the significance of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
