Assam registers biggest 1-day jump of 1680 +ve cases, state tally rises to 26,772
Active cases 8672 in Assam
July 21: On Tuesday, Assam recorded the biggest single day spike of 1680 new coronavirus positive cases. With this the state tally has gone upto 26,772, out of which, 8672 are active cases. While giving the daily updates, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet wrote that 1680 positive cases were recorded in Assam on Tuesday. Guwahati registered the highest number of 570 positive cases followed by 167 cases in Jorhat and 159 positive cases in Cachar. As per this data, Cachar occupied the 3rd place in terms of spike in COVID cases. Further, 6 more deaths were registered in Assam during the day, thereby taking the death tally to 64.
