Assam registers 9 more deaths due to COVID-19, toll rises to 794

Oct. 8: On Thursday, Assam registered another 9 deaths due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll due to coronavirus has now reached 794. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 09 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The 09 deceased were identified as:

• Arjun Prasad Sonar (75) of Cachar
• Dibya Ranjan Chutia (62) at Dibrugarh
• Khanindra Talukdar (71) of Kamrup Metro
• Barnali Saikia (35) of Lakhimpur
• Buparam Saikia (79) of Majuli
• Dilip Das (39) of Golaghat
• Kumud Dutta (75) of Jorhat
• Imfar Ali Sheikh (64) of Dhubri
• Jatindra Ghosh (82) of Kokrajhar
