Assam registers 6 more deaths due to COVID-19, tally rises to 227

August 21: Another 6 deaths were registered in Assam on Friday. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 227. This was confirmed in a tweet on Friday by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The deceased were identified as:

• Bidhu Bhushan Das (57) of Cachar
• Haripad Deb Nath (55) of Hailakandi
• Madhai Saha (53) of Dhubri
• Kameswar Lahkar (55) of Barpeta
• Kamal Krishan Mahanta (47) of Kamrup Rural
• Sahida Khatun (43) of Dibrugarh
