Assam registers 15 more deaths due to COVID-19, tally rises to 345

September 4: On Friday, Assam registered its highest single-day spike in the number of deaths due to COVID-19. A total of 15 persons lost their lives due to novel coronavirus. This was confirmed in a tweet on Friday night by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The deceased were identified as:

• Niranjan Das (45) & Pritish Kanti Dutta (70) of Karimganj
• Jatin Bora (57) of Tinsukia
• Bijoy Bhumick (51) & Pranab Baruah (57) of Dibrugarh
• Jugal Kishore Agarwala (68) & Nizamuddin Ali (68) of Sivasagar
• Puniya Baishya (60) & Dalimi Basumatary (45) of Kokrajhar
• Biren Debnath (65) of Udalguri
• Syamala Shuklabadya (47) of Hojai
• Sayladhar Bordoloi (82) of Jorhat
• Tikaram Sharma (54) of Chirang
• Benumai Baruah (80) of Nagaon
• Dimendra Kumar Chetia (79) of Kamrup Metro
