Assam records biggest one-day spike of 572 cases, total rises to 8407
Active cases 2745 in Assam
June 30: Tuesday seemed to be a day of worry for Assam as the state recorded its biggest single-day jump in the number of coronavirus cases. A total of 572 cases were reported from across the state, with Guwahati recording 380 cases alone, the highest one-day count so far. With this, the state tally has gone upto 8407. At present, there are 2745 active cases in the state.
On Tuesday, the state also recorded its 12th COVID-19 related death. Further, 314 patients were also discharged during the day from across various hospitals in the state. As of now, a total of 5647 patients were discharged in Assam. Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Today, 380 cases were reported in Guwahati City alone, and need for caution can’t be overemphasized.”

Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Minister of State, Pijush Hazarika held a video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners of Assam. He tweeted, “I made it amply clear that we’re still in a danger zone, & should follow all rules with ruthless precision.”
