Assam receives 1,88,540 doses of Covishield on Thursday

July 15: There has been a total imbalance between the demand and supply of Covid-19 vaccines in Assam. Many are eagerly waiting to get the jab, but due to non-availability of vaccines, many had to return back disheartened after long hours of wait in the vaccination centres. The officer in-charge of vaccination in Silchar town informed that no vaccines will be administered in the town on Friday, as they have run out of stocks.

Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta informed in a tweet that Assam has received 1,88,540 doses of Covishield vaccine. This means, the districts will be provided their share in a day or two.
