Assam Police to give reward of ₹1 lakh on providing information on ex-DIG & a BJP leader
Sept. 28: The two prime accused in connection with the police recruitment question paper leak in the state, former deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Prasanta Kumar Dutta and BJP leader Diban Deka is on the run. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Crime Branch have jumped into action to nab all those involved in this appointment scam. Meanwhile, Assam Police has announced Rs. 1 lakh reward to anyone providing information about the absconding duo.
DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Monday said that so far have arrested 19 persons in connection with the question paper leak scam. He further said that any person, irrespective of his political affiliation or post, will be arrested if found involved in the leaking of the question paper.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed Assam Police to conduct the recruitment exam for the sub-inspector (SI) posts within 15 November. Sonowal said that stern action would be taken against those involved in the scam.
