Assam govt extends Puja vacation in Barak Valley till 31 Oct

Oct. 21: Assam government has extended the Durga Puja vacation in Barak Valley by another 5 days. Instead of 27 Oct, vacation has been extended till 31 Oct. However, the 5 extra days of vacation shall be compensated by curtailing equal number of days from the summer vacation.

The notification issued by Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt of Assam (Elementary, Secondary & Higher Education Department) on 21 October stated, “The Government of Assam in Secondary & Elementary Education Department is pleased to notify that the Puja Vacation for the Barak Valley Districts (Cachar, Karimganj & Hailakandi) shall be extended by 5 (five) days from 27th October to 31 Octobcr,2020. The said extended holidays shall be compensated by curtailing 5 (five) nos. of holidays from the Summer Vacation.”
