Assam govt airlifts 2 liquid oxygen takers of 40 MT from Pune to Guwahati in IAF Aircraft
May 23: Amid the ongoing increase in Covid-19 cases in the country, the requirement for medical oxygen has increased. Keeping this aspect in mind, and to further augment the oxygen availability in the state, two liquid oxygen tankers (20 MT each) have been airlifted from Pune and brought to Guwahati in IAF Aircraft. Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We will leave no stone unturned in our fight against Covid. We will overcome soon.”
Earlier during the day, the Union government has sent 80 MT of medical oxygen for Assam. The first oxygen supplying train for Assam has arrived at the Inland Container Depot at Amingaon in Kamrup on Sunday noon. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Amingaon went to the Amingaon Depot to receive the four containers carrying 80 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen for Covid-19 patients.
