Assam CM meets PM Modi ahead of signing the interstate boundary settlement

March 29: Assam Chief Minister D Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The Chief Minister apprised PM Modi of the various development projects & welfare schemes being implemented in Assam.

Taking to his twitter handle, CM Dr Sarma wrote, “Called on Adarniya Pradhan Mantri Shri @narendramodiji in New Delhi and apprised him of the various development projects & welfare schemes being implemented in Assam. Also sought his blessings and guidance for further accelerating the pace of growth in our State.”

Earlier, CM Assam also met BJP President JP Nadda. Dr Sarma stated, “Called on Adarniya Adhyaksha Shri JP Naddaji in Delhi & expressed my gratitude to him for his advice that ensured BJP’s stellar performance in recent Majuli by-election & municipal polls. Also sought his directions for carrying forward our party’s vision to the masses.”

Himanta Biswa Sarma is in Delhi to sign an agreement with the Meghalaya government to resolve their 50-year-old pending boundary differences. The agreement will be signed by the Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday afternoon.
