Assam CM Himanta directs police to withdraw FIR against Mizo MP who threatened to kill Assam Police jawans

Aug 2: In a turn of events and as a measure of goodwill, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Police to withdraw FIR against Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP L Vanlalvena who recently made an explosive comment against Assam Police where he said, “We shall kill them all if they come again.”
Taking to his Twitter handle, CM Assam wrote, “have noted statements in media by Honble CM @ZoramthangaCM wherein he has expressed his desire to settle the border dispute amicably. Assam always wants to keep the spirit of North East alive. We are also committed to ensuring peace along our borders.” Himanta Biswa Sarma further wrote take, “take this goodwill gesture ahead, I have directed @assampolice to withdraw FIR against K. Vanlalvena , Honble MP, Rajya Sabha from Mizoram. However cases against other accused police officers will be pursued.”

K Vanlalvena, Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha, while speaking with News Agency ANI on Tuesday after the border violence said, “More than 200 policemen of Assam Police entered Mizoram’s territory and they pushed back our policemen from our own post. They gave firing order first, before we fire them. They are lucky that we have not killed them all. If they come again, we shall kill them all. Ok.” Very soon, this video clip has became viral in social media. Many news channels are airing this statement full of hatred where he speaks about committing genocide of Assam Police. This incident was taken very seriously by Assam Police.
Following this, GP Singh, Special DGP of Assam Police in a series of tweets informed that a team of Assam Police including officers of CID are leaving for Delhi to take lawful action relating to the conspiracy behind the incident in light of media interview of Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena indicative of his active role in conspiracy.
