Assam-based Entrepreneur invents leak-proof, eco-friendly Bamboo Bottles, pics goes viral
August 11: Excessive use of plastic in various forms by people has posed as a great challenge to our environment. When the government is harnessing upon the concept of skill development in our curriculum, a man from Assam has indeed used his skill in bamboo bottles that are 100 per cent leak-proof and is a step towards reducing the use of plastic bottles from our daily lives. His creativity has now gone viral both in social media and mainstream media.
A former IIT student and now an entrepreneur from Assam, Dhritiman Bora has made water bottles from bamboo. These bio-degradable water bottles are absolutely leak-proof. These bottles are easy to carry around as the mouths of the bottles are made of cork which does not allow the spillage of water. The outer layer of these bottles is polished with a waterproof oil polish that gives it a glossy finish. Interestingly, the cork is also made of bamboo.
A former IIT-ian from Assam, Dhritiman Bora’s invention comes in various sizes and costs approximately between INR 400-600. Being a natural product, the water remains cool and hygienic and being sturdy it can be taken anywhere. If you are concerned about the hygiene quotient of these air-tight water bottles, they are extensively treated during the manufacturing process to make them bacteria-free.
Dhritiman along with Mousom Bora are both working towards making these bamboo bottles more accessible through an e-commerce platform called www.tribalplantes.com.
While Dhritiman is thankful to the digital world for creating awareness about his innovation, but due to the limited reach of the internet throughout the country, he feels that spreading awareness about the bottle is the biggest challenge at present.
