Assam: 5-member teams, including the vaccinator & staff to vaccinate 100 people in each session sites
Jan. 10: Assam’s health department has identified as many as 1600 sites to conduct the first phase of the anti-virus vaccination drive. Nearly two lakh beneficiaries will receive the first dose of the vaccine in the first phase. Ahead of COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the country from 16 January, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting with chief ministers of all states and Union territories on 11 January.
In a report by The Assam Tribune, it was stated that a five-member team, including the vaccinator and his staff, will inoculate 100 people in each of the session sites on a particular day. The State’s current vaccine storage capacity is 3.70 crore doses. The State Vaccine Centre, five regional vaccine centres at Silchar, Goalpara, Tezpur, Jorhat and Dibrugarh and 723 cold chain points will come into play in the exercise. These cold chain points will also be vaccination session sites.
After completion of 28 days from taking the first vaccine shot, the beneficiary would have to take the second shot to complete the course.
