Asian Games & Olympic Medal winners to be offered ACS, APS Rank: Himanta

March 6: To encourage sports persons, Assam government has come up with an inspiring proposal. In his budget speech on Friday, Assam Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Asian games and Olympic Medal Winners from Assam will now be offered ACS or APS Ranks.

Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday announced that the state government has decided to offer the post of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) to ace sprinter Hima Das. The ace sprinter in a Tweet thanked Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowl and Himanta Biswa Sarma for offering the post.
