Art of Living distribute food packets among 100 families at Sarat Pally

April 11: The coronavirus pandemic is affecting tens of thousands of people in profound ways, including loss of work and a lack of medical care and food supplies. The outbreak has had a significant impact on the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly and children. While the government announcing a package worth Rs 1.7 lakh crore for daily wagers and the poor will go a long way in ensuring that no one goes to sleep hungry, individuals and organisations took the lead on their own to feed the teeming millions.

On Saturday, Silchar chapter of Art of Living (AOL) came forward and distributed food materials among the poor and needy. The members of Art of Living distributed 100 packets of food materials to 100 poor families, mostly the daily wage earners who are now without job and income. The food packets were distributed maintaining the norms of social distancing.

Art of Living distributed these food packets comprising of 5 kh rice, 0.5 kg dal, 1 kg potato, 0.5 ltr mustard oil, i kg salt to 100 families residing at Sarat Pally area of Silchar. Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy also joined AOL in distributing the relief materials. AOL Silchar informed that they will continue serving the poor during the lockdown phase in other remote places.
