Arrangements in place for smooth conduct of repoll at Sonai

Cast your vote without any fear, says DC Cachar

April 17 : The preparations are full with tight security arrangement at the Booth No. 109 of Madhya Dhanehari LP School No. 463 in Sonai Assembly constituency, which will go for re poll on April 20. This was said by Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli on Saturday, after visiting the centre.

The Deputy Commissioner, along with Superintendent of Police BL Meena visited the polling station to oversee the poll preparedness and was accompanied by Sonai Circle Officer Sudeep Nath , Additional Superintendent of Police Jagdish Das, Zonal and Sector Officers. The Deputy Commissioner asked all the voters under the polling station to come out in full strength and exercise their franchise without any fear and apprehension.

No description available.The Election Commission of India on April 10 declared the votes polled at the polling station as void and ordered for fresh poll at the station. Later, while speaking to the media persons, the Cachar DC said “The administration is working hard for the smooth conduct of the re-poll and the police have been asked to provide tight security to prevent any further untoward incident on the polling day”.

Jalli also said that poll will be conducted on 20 April .The mock poll will start at 5.30 am and poll will start at 7 am and Zonal, Sector officers of Civil and Police along with Poll party have been debriefed and are ready. “A meeting with all candidates has also been organised. Area domination has been taken up since last ten days by police. Circle officer and O/C are also interacting with public appealing for fearless voting,” she added. She also discussed with polling officials about the arrangements of basic amenities at the polling station along with separate entry and exit to the station.

No description available.Cachar Superintendent of Police, BL Meena said that all preparations are being made to complete the re-poll smoothly and adequate police and CRPF forces will be deployed on the polling day. The senior police official further shared that a company of CRPF force is being conducting road march, for the past week in the entire polling station area and on the poll day, no one except the voter will allowed to enter the 500m radius of the polling station. An officer with the rank of DSP has been entrusted with the responsibility of Zonal Officer.
