Another Covid-19 +ve patient from Tarapur dies at SMCH on Sunday

April 18: Sunday seemed to cast a gloom in Silchar. On Sunday, at 2 AM, a Covid-19 positive patient, Satyendra Mohan Roy (73 years), a resident of Premtala, Silchar breathed his last at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). As per reports, his death occured due to sudden cardiac arrest.

During the day at 4.15 PM, another Covid-19 positive patient from Tarapur, Silchar breathed his last at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The deceased was identified as Hemendra Kumar Chanda (70). As per preliminary reports, he died due to severe Covid AKI.

Further, 15 persons were tested Covid-19 positive till 7 PM on Sunday. At present, there are 173 active coronavirus cases in Cachar district. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice principal of SMCH informed that 20 Covid-19 patients are admitted at SMCH, out of which 02 patients are kept on ventilator support. On Sunday, 3 more patients were admitted at SMCH.
