Anandakriti & YMO organises mega cloth donation programme during Mahalaya

Oct. 6: This year too Anandakriti  in collaboration with Young Minds Organisation (YMP) organised a mega cloth donation programme on the day of Mahalaya, where they distributed more than 1000 clothes to the poor and needy. The chief monk of Bharat Seva Ashram, Silchar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jessica Lalsem, Ex-Chairperson of SMB Tamal Kanti Banik graced the occasion as the chief guests.

Madly Bangali, a local renowned band of Silchar went live with their performance. Biswajit Paul, President of Anandkriti and Aniket, President of YMO said, “Due to Covid we organised the event abiding by the protocol. But next year, if everything remains favourable, we would target to distribute clothes to more than 5000 people.”

They also added that this event has been going on since last four years and it is their signature event because distributing clothes as a Bengali on the occasion of Durga Puja gives immense pleasure “when we see smiles on the face of those needy people once they receive the clothes.”
