5,613 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 3,905 discharged & 77 deaths registered

Active cases 54,948 in Assam

May 29: On Saturday, out of 1,16,562 tests, 5,613 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 4,03,623. The positivity rate in the state is 4.82 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 580 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday, 77 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 3,245.

It needs mention here that on Friday, 5,436 persons tested positive in Assam and 80 deaths were registered.

On Saturday, 3,905 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 3,44,083 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 85.25 percent. At present, there are 54,948 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 77 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 77 deceased, 11 are from Tinsukia; 07 from Cachar; 05 each from Barpeta, Kamrup Metro & Nagaon; 04 each from Dibrugarh & Karbi Anglong; 03 each from Baksa, Darrang, Dhubri, Jorhat, Sivasagar & Sonitpur; 02 each from Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup Rural, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Hojai, Lakhimpur & Morigaon; 01 each from Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Charaideo, Dima Hasao, Golaghat & South Salmara. The death tally of the state now stands at 3,245.
