Amidst growing demands for his arrest, Ramdev says “Even their father can’t arrest me”
May 27: After #ArrestRamdev trended on Twitter, yoga guru Baba Ramdev said, “Even their father can’t arrest me.” His video went viral on social media. Ramdev thundered with little respect for the rule of law, “Khair arrest to unka baap bhi nahi kar sakta Swami Ramdev ko (Anyways, even their father can’t arrest Swami Ramdev).” Hindustan Times in a report wrote, “Though it is yet to verify the authenticity, origin or context of the video but Patanjali spokespersons have refrained from commenting on it till the filing of this report.”
In the 40 seconds video, Swami Ramdev is seen saying, “Khair arrest to unka koi baap bhi nahi har sakta Swami Ramdev ko…lekin ek shor macha rahey hain…ki arrest Swami Ramdev…kabhi kuch chala detey hai….ki arrest Ramdev…Thug Ramdev…Kabi maha thug Ramdev…Kabi giraftaar Ramdev…chalate rahe hai..chalane do (’No one ..in fact no one’s father can arrest Swami Ramdev…but they are making noise… arrest Ramdev, Thug (con) Ramdev…They are following trends …let them).”
"खैर अरेस्ट तो उनका बाप भी
नहीं कर सकता स्वामी रामदेव को।"सोशल मीडिया ट्रेंड्स और डॉक्टरों की तरफ से गिरफ्तारी की मांग पर ये रामदेव का बयान है।
महामारी कानून की मौजूदगी में ये सिर्फ बयान नहीं,वक्त और पैसे की ताकत का सबूत है। सब वक्त-वक्त की बात है। pic.twitter.com/7SOxmIGGKE

The video surfaces after the Indian Medical Association (IMA) wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to book Ramdev under sedition laws for questioning the efficacy of allopathic medicines and vaccines against COVID-19. Yoga Guru Ramdev has courted controversy before with his remarks. Last year, his company launched Coronil after claiming it was a medicine for Covid, only to withdraw the claim months later. In 2012, he claimed that yoga could cure cancer and HIV-AIDS, drawing strict censure from medical councils.
