Amid rising number of corona cases, monsoon session of Parliament begins

Sept. 14: As the number of novel coronavirus cases in India goes up on a record high, the Monsoon session of Parliament kicks started on Tuesday. Several precautionary measures were put on place inside the Parliament. Before the start of the session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday sent a safety COVID-19 kit to all parliamentarians amid the pandemic. The session will provide a total of 18 sittings and 47 items, including 45 bills and two financial items. There will be a 4-hour session of each House daily.
