Alumni Association to celebrate 54th foundation day of Holy Cross School on 17 January

January 15: Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Silchar, a premier educational institution of Assam is going to step in its 54th year of establishment. The convent school is run by the Sisters of Bethany since its establishment on 17 January, 1966. In the year 2015, Holy Cross celebrated its golden jubilee in a befitting way. The Holy Cross H.S. School Alumni Association has now come forward to celebrate its 54th Foundation Day on 17 January with pomp and splendor.

The Alumni Association of Holy Cross is all prepared with a day-long celebration in connection with its foundation day. In this connection, an organising committee was formed to make the event a grand one. Sudarshan Gupta of 1990 batch has been entrusted the responsibility as the Convenor of the gala event.

Speaking to way2barak, Gaurav Pal, General Secretary of the Aliumni Association said, “We are trying our best to connect with all the batches which have passed out from the school. In this regard, we have appointed an alumnas from each batch as the Batch Coordinator, who will be collaborating with his/her batch in order to ensure maximum participation. Mr. Pal further urged upon the passed out students of the school to be present on 17 January in Holy Cross School premises and thereby make the event a grand success.

The Convenor of the Foundation Day Celebration Committee Sudarshan Gupta informed that the programme will begin at 10.30 in the morning with flag hoisting followed by morning assembly.  A number of games and sports will be conducted among the past students of the school. There will also be dance and song performances by the alumni.  Elaborate arrangement for snacks and lunch has also been made in this connection. In the post-lunch ceremony, an open session will be held. The day-long celebration will come to an end with a cultural bonanza in which renowned invited artists will perform.
