Alumni Association of Govt Girls’ HS & MP School observes World Health Day in a befitting manner

April 8: In the midst of a pandemic, a polluted planet, increasing diseases like cancer, asthma, heart disease etc., the Alumni Association of Government Girls’ HS & MP School, Silchar observed World Health Day on 7 April in a befitting manner.

To mark the occasion, the members of the Alumni Association organised a blood group testing camp among the students of Cachar High School, Silchar. The blood group testing camp was organised under the able guidance of of its President Dr. Bijoylakhshmi Das Choudhury.

Also present on behalf of the Alumni Association of Government Girls’ HS & MP School, Silchar were Anuradha Sanyal, Narayani Bhowal, Arati Roy Choudhury, Debjani Chakraborty, Paramita Das, Shukla Biswas, Rupa Dutta, Devosree Dutta, Anuradha Sengupta and Debolina Roy. This was informed in a press release issued by Sangeeta Dutta, Secretary of the Alumni Association.

World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7 April to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. Each year for this date, a theme is chosen that highlights an area of priority concern for WHO. In the face of the current pandemic, a polluted planet, and an increasing incidence of diseases, the theme for World Health Day 2022 is Our Planet, Our Health.
