Alok Nath banned by Film Association for 6 month over alleged rape

February 2: Popular Television artist and film star Alok Nath was issued a six-month ban from acting in production house over alleged rape. Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) announced that its parent body, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has taken this decision.

The ban was issued after the actor failed to turn up for a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) inquiry. As per reports, Alok Nath was summoned thrice by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

Alok Nath was accused by a screenwriter of being raped 19 years ago while working as a writer on a television show. However, the judiciary has granted Nath anticipatory bail on a surety of Rs. 5 lakh last month with other conditions, including not leaving the country without the court’s permission.
