Ahead of New Year, IMD forecasts rough weather conditions across Northeast
Dec. 29: Three more days are just to go for the new year 2022 to set its footstep. However, due to the spread of Omicron variant of Covid-19, most of the states have imposed various sorts of restrictions on the celebrations. It is in this gloomy backdrop that weather too has joined hands to be a spoilsport in new year celebrations.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya will be facing isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorm on Wednesday and Thursday. Dense fog has also been expected to blanket these states until Friday.
