Agri Minister reviews key projects in Cachar

way2barak, September 9: Assam’s Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Border Protection, Atul Bora, conducted a comprehensive review meeting in Silchar on Monday, focusing on the implementation of crucial Central and State government projects of Cachar district. The meeting aimed at assessing grassroots-level progress and addressing local issues to ensure the smooth delivery of government schemes.

Minister Bora, who arrived in Silchar for a 2-day visit to Barak valley, emphasized the need for efficient coordination between local MPs, MLAs, and public representatives to gather feedback on the impact of these projects and resolve the grievances of the people. The minister highlighted the importance of timely execution to uplift the region and address the concerns of citizens effectively.

The review covered a broad spectrum of sectors, including health, agriculture, and border security. District officials presented updates on the status of hospitals, health centers, and the PM Jan Arogya Yojana, among other schemes. Special attention was given to healthcare initiatives in tea gardens, such as wage compensation for pregnant women and child immunization drives under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
Additionally, the progress of government schemes in agriculture and animal husbandry were also discussed, as well as the region’s security concerns along the Mizoram border. Minister Bora urged for expedited efforts in these areas, stressing that collaboration between departments is essential to deliver long-term benefits to the people.


The meeting was attended by Cachar District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatto, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and other officials.
