After UPPL’s big victory, party chief Pramod Boro to be the new BTC chief
Dec. 13: In the recently concluded BTC elections BPF got 17 seats followed by 12 seats by UPPL. The BJP won in 9 seats whereas Congress and the party floated by Naba Sarania got one seat each. In the 40-member Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), 21 seats are required to form the government. Now with due support of BJP, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) will form the council.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing a press meet in Guwahati said that the coalition of the BJP, UPPL and Naba Sarania’s Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) will form the council. As such, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro will be the new chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
