After steady rise for 16 days, petrol- diesel prices remain unchanged on Thursday
April 7: In the last 16 days, there were several hikes in fuel rates across the country. However, on 7 April, the prices of petrol and diesel remained unchanged. On 6 April, petrol and diesel prices were hiked again by 80 paise a litre, taking the total increase in rates in the last 16 days to ₹10 per litre or over 10%. On 7 April, the price of petrol price is now 106.25 per litre while diesel is selling at ₹92.00 per litre.

Fuel rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state depending upon the incidence of local taxation. Yesterday’s hike was the 14th increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on 22 March.
Carrying forward from yesterday’s hike, Petrol in Delhi will continue to cost ₹105.41 per litre, as against ₹104.61 previously, while diesel rates have gone up from ₹95.87 per litre to 96.67, according to a price notification of state-run fuel retailers.
