AEC Issued Notice with Strict Rules and Regulations for all Hostels
way2barak, May 31: Following the tragic accident that claimed the lives of seven Assam Engineering College (AEC) students, the Principal of AEC, Dr Atul Bora, issued a notice with strict rules and regulations for all the hostels, as several questions have been raised about the role of the hostel administration or institution.
In the notice issued, he stated that boarders should maintain their attendance, departure, admission, and exit times.
He also added that surveillance teams will be formed to monitor any boarders who are found to be missing from the hostel without consent from the administration and that disciplinary action will be initiated as soon as feasible, including notice to the parents.
Special teams will be established to monitor the hostels regularly for the presence of unapproved people and illegal products.
To prevent such instances, the Police Administration is entitled to pick up any boarder of hostels located off campus after the permitted hour and without a permission letter for good grounds. He added that the police administration would take over such hostel boundaries at the college.
He also introduced a slew of additional laws and regulations.
Bora stated unequivocally that any breach of the aforementioned restrictions would result in disciplinary action and unfavourable remarks on their pass certificate.
