ACTA organizes annual lecture on ‘Act East Policy’
September 29: The objective of ”Act East Policy” is to promote economic cooperation, cultural ties and develop strategic relationship with countries in the Asia-Pacific region through continuous engagement at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels thereby providing enhanced connectivity to the States of North Eastern Region including Arunachal Pradesh with other countries in our neighbourhood. The North East of India has been a priority in our Act East Policy (AEP). This was the crux of the speech delivered by Prof. Niranjan Roy, Dean of MG School of Economics & Commerce, Assam University during the Annual Lecture programme organized by Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) on Friday.
The Annual Lecture Programme was named after a renowned former teacher of G.C. College, Prof. Dilip Kumar Chakraborty. The lecture programme was organized by ACTA central committee in collaboration with ACTA Cachar Zone at G.C. College, Silchar. Present during the occasion were Dr. Bibhash Deb, Principal of G.C. College, Dr. Kishor Kumar Deka, Vice President of ACTA, Prof. Himangshu Maral, General Secretary ACTA, Dr. Anupam Dutta, Assistant Secretary (Academic) ACTA, Diganta Biswa Sharma, Sri Chandan Paul Choudhury, Dr. Apratim Nag, Hemanta Kumar Bora and teachers from various colleges of Cachar district.
Prof. Niranjan Roy of Assam University delivered the Dilip Kumar Chakraborty Memorial lecture on the topic “Act East Policy, with special focus on the North East. ACTA organize such lecture programme as part of its routine activity in various districts of Assam.
