ACTA delegation meets CM Assam, submits memorandum related to higher education & issues of college teachers

Sept. 10: A delegation of Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) met state Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at his official chamber in Guwahati on Friday. The delegation was led by ACTA President Biswajit Bhuyan. Also present there were General Secretary of ACTA Himangshu Maral and Assistant Secretary (Academic) Dr Anupam Dutta.

The ACTA delegation felicitated the Chief Minister and also gave him two memoranda associated with Higher Education and other allied important issues of college teachers for his perusal and necessary action. The ACTA leadership informed that they ad a very fruitful discussion with the Chief Minister. “He assured us that necessary instructions will be issued to the relevant authorities to discuss the issues raised by ACTA and find solutions to the problems faced by the college teachers,” stated Himangshu Maral, General Secretary of ACTA.

Earlier, in the month of May, a delegation of the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) met the new Education Minister of the state, Dr. Ranoj Pegu on Tuesday at his official residence. The delegation led by ACTA President Biswajit Bhuyan felicitated Dr Ranoj Pegu on getting the portfolio of Education Minister in the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led cabinet.

Later on Himangshu Maral, General Secretary of ACTA informed, “Today we met the Hon’ble Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu and felicitated him at his official residence. Dr. Pegu is familiar with ACTA and our Guest House which shares it’s boundary with the Tribal Guest House frequently visited by him. He assured us to look into our problems positively. We sincerely hope to see a value addition to the Education Department with his arrival.”
