Academic discourse on ‘Political-Philosophical Convergence’ held at Radhamadhab College
Dr. Pius V. Thomas & Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty interacted with the students
Feb. 3: A Workshop on “Political-Philosophical Convergence” was organised jointly by the Department of Political Science and Department of Philosophy of Radhamadhab College, Silchar (RMC) on Monday. The resource persons of the Workshop were Dr. Pius V. Thomas, Head, Department of Philosophy, Assam University. Silchar who delivered a lecture on the topic, “Democracy, Human Rights & Public Sphere” and Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Assam University who spoke on the topic, “Federation in India: The Case of Institutionalized Cooperation”.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Ashima Roy, Vice-Principal and Head, Department of Political Science. Radhamadhab College. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Jashobanta Roy. Retd. Principal and Head, Department of Philosophy, Radhamadhab College and Dr. Sonali Choudhury Biswas. Coordinator, IQAC and Librarian, Radhamadhab College.
The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Ruma Nath Choudhury, Head, Department of Philosophy. The programme was well coordinated by Swamali Roy Choudhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy and the vote of thanks was delivered by Tapati Choudhury, Lecturer, Department of Political Science. It may be mentioned here that around 100 students participated in the Workshop. Apart from the students, the faculty members of the college also participated in the academic discourse.
