ABVP raises tripartite demand, gives memorandum to Principal of Cachar College
Oct. 9: Silchar Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to the Principal of Cachar College on Thursday. In the said memorandum, ABVP raised three demands. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) decided not to hold the the HS First Year Final Examination and rather promoted all students to HS Final Year.
ABVP in their memorandum demanded to return back the examination/ centre fees collected by the college from the students of HS First Year. They also raised the demand to start the process of online teaching-learning as per government guidelines. Further, they also urged upon the Principal to fill up the post of Governing Body (GB) President of the college.
Speaking on this issue, Kisholoy Chakraborty, Secretary, Silchar Unit of ABVP said, “We have placed our demands before the Principal of the College. He assured us to look into the matter of refund of centre fees as demanded by us. As regards starting of online classes, the Principal said he is doing his best as far as practicable. However, regarding our 3rd demand, Principal of the College said that this matter is not within the purview of the students. We will keep a keen observation on the action taken by the Principal in this connection.”
Present during the occasion were Kisholoy Chakraborty, Secretary, Silchar Unit of ABVP, Rohit Chanda- Agitation in-charge Silchar Unit, Rituraj Chakraborty- Officer Secretary of Silchar Unit, Prosenjit Dey- Seva SFS in-charge of Silchar Unit, Nitish Tiwari and Debojyoti Yadav.
